Golfing

Fernie Golf & Country Club is a world-class 18 hole golf course is noted for its mountain backdrop and its playability. The course is a par 70, and is 6,556 yards long. Rated in the top 25 of BC's courses. Soon Fernie will have a second 18 hole course when the Greg Norman designed Blackstone Resort opens its greens. Fernie is also within an hour's drive of British Columbia's most spectacular golf courses.

Fishing

Fernie is becoming a world renowned destination for sport fishing. The Fernie Valley has places to fly fish, walk-and-wade, still water and even ice fishing. The Elk River and its emerald waters make for a fabulous surrounding for any fishing adventure.

Fernie's hikes offer something for everyone -- from gentle, sheltered forest trails to dramatic mountaintop ridges. The surrounding area in and around Fernie hosts a network of well-maintained trails and the natural vegetation and wildlife make every hike a memorable trip.

Alpine Skiing & Snowboarding

Fernie's Alpine Resort has been world famous for its powder conditions for quite some time now. Skiing Magazine has ranked the resort as no. 10 in the "Top 25 Resorts in North America" and Powderhound Magazine (out of Australia) rated it as the no. 8 destination in the world. Nordic Skiing

While the trail system at Fernie Alpine Resort is small, it has been very well maintained this year. The trails are wide enough for skate skiing and a track is set for classical cross country. The cat crew are out with the groomers almost daily keeping the loops fast.

 

 

Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling in the BC Rockies is the wilderness experience of a lifetime! Encounter big mountain terrain unlike anything you have ever seen with the excitement of riding powder.
